Auch in China ist das iPhone 5 von Apple kürzlich in den Verkauf gestartet und das Unternehmen hat in einer Pressemitteilung verkündet, dass man am ersten Wochenende im Reich der Mitte immerhin zwei Millionen Geräte absetzen konnte.
In der Pressemitteilung feiert sich Apple logischer- und berechtigterweise wieder ein wenig selbst, indem man vom schnellsten Rollout aller Zeiten spricht – immerhin will man bereits bis zum Ende dieses Monats das iPhone 5 in mehr als 100 Ländern verfügbar haben.
China gehört also jetzt auch zu den glücklichen Ländern, in denen das Smartphone zu haben ist und 2 Millionen ist durchaus eine beeindruckende Zahl. Beim weltweiten Verkaufsstart des iPhone 5 hat man am ersten Wochenende insgesamt über 5 Millionen Geräte absetzen können, daher kann man die jetzt dazu gekommenen 2 Millionen in China also absolut hoch einschätzen. Angesichts der riesigen Bevölkerungszahl in China klingen 2 Millionen nicht so mächtig und es gab auch keine großen Schlangen zu verkünden, letzteres ist aber auch dem neuen Reservierungssystem geschuldet.
Apple hebt jedenfalls in der Pressemitteilung noch einmal hervor, wie wichtig der Markt China für das Unternehmen ist und die sehr ordentlichen Verkäufe bestätigen, dass Apple auf diesem schwierigen Markt Fuß gefasst hat. Hier der komplette Pressetest:
